Calauag Central College, Inc. (CCC) formally welcomed its new batch of more than a hundred first-year college students and transferees coming from various schools and universities in Quezon through a comprehensive Orientation Program held at the CCC Mt. Site Covered Court, July 31.
The event was aimed to familiarize students with college life, institutional services, and academic expectations as they begin their journey in higher education. The program opened with a solemn prayer led by Gian Tracy Padua, SSC Senator, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Paul Benedict Labaco, SSC Senate President, igniting a sense of pride and unity among attendees.
Dr. Dennis Arthur S. Leonor, Dean of Colleges, delivered the Welcome Remarks, encouraging students to take advantage of the opportunities provided by the institution. He emphasized the value of discipline, commitment, and active participation in college life.
To further ease the students into their new environment, Mr. Marc Karlo D. Sales introduced them to the CCC Family, which included key personnel, college faculty, and various student support services available on campus.
This was followed by an overview of the Student Manual presented by Dr. John Paul F. San Lorenzo, OSA Coordinator. He walked students through the guidelines, policies, and expected behavior that govern student conduct, stressing the importance of respect, accountability, and academic integrity. Dr. San Lorenzo also introduced the various student organizations, such as the Rotaract Club of Calauag Central College Premier, Arts Club, Drum and Lyre Cadet Corps, and the Sinaglahi Dance Troupe - College Department, and gave them the opportunity to promote and recruit for new members.
Mr. Joel V. Sevial, MAED, Education Coordinator, gave an in-depth Academic Overview, outlining the academic structure, grading system, and available support for academic success. He also encouraged students to stay focused on their educational goals and make the most of the college’s academic resources.
Scholarship opportunities and financial assistance programs were also tackled. Mr. Camilo Paul M. Barros, the TES Focal Person, discussed Scholarships and Financial Aids provided by the institution, such as the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) from CHED, and the recently approved Honor Graduate discount, followed by Mr. Sales who returned to provide answers to Frequently Asked Questions about the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES).
The orientation served not only as an informative session but also as a welcoming celebration of a new chapter for the students. CCC continues to uphold its commitment to student success by ensuring that every learner starts the academic year with clarity, guidance, and a strong sense of belonging.
