Bright Future Ahead: New Leaders Elected for Torch Bearers’ Council

Calauag Central College Inc. held their annual council elections for the junior and senior high school departments last September 16, 2023. The election campaign period lasted for three days, from the 14th to the 16th of September.

Two parties competed for leadership seats, namely Tanglaw and Sulo parties. Nicole P. Deduyo led the Tanglaw party for the senior high school department, while Angelo B. Mercene led the junior high school department. Meanwhile, Shiela Mae A. Agnasin led the Sulo party for the senior high school department, and Angela Dorothy C. Thomas for the junior high school department.

Participants included representatives from the junior high school department’s Compassion and Commitment sections, as well as the senior high school department’s HUMSS and ABM sections. The engagement of these students demonstrates the school’s dedication to developing student participation and leadership skills.

Both parties held a Miting de Avance on the morning of September 16, 2023, to present their platforms to their fellow students. The Miting de Avance was held in the CCC Covered court (Mt. Site), and students from both junior and senior high school departments attended the event.

The voting for the election was done online using Google Forms. Ballots were provided to students by their teachers to ensure a fair and fast voting procedure.

After thorough verification, the new leaders were announced on September 18, 2023. Names of the elected students were posted on the school bulletin boards and were announced on the Facebook Page of the Torch Bearers’ Council JHS & SHS.
