Grade 10 Students Attend Two-Day In-House Basic Research Seminar

Grade 10 students from the Commitment and Compassion sections of Calauag Central College Inc. (CCC) participated in a two-day Basic Reearch Seminar on August 4 and 5 at the CCC Library. Organized by the Torch Bearers’ Council (TBC) in coordination with the English Department, the event aimed to equip learners with the knowledge and skills needed for their upcoming thesis work and future research in senior high school.

The seminar opened on August 4 at 8:30 a.m. with a prayer, followed by the introduction of the first speaker, Dr. John Paul F. San Lorenzo. He discussed the proper structure and format of academic research, stressing its relevance to the Grade 10 curriculum and its role as preparation for more advanced studies. Students actively participated in the question-and-answer portion, seeking clarification and guidance on various aspects of thesis writing. At the end of the session, Dr. San Lorenzo received a certificate of appreciation from the TBC and Ms. Julianne Torres, Grade 10 English Teacher.

On August 5, the second session featured Mr. Domingo A. Esteban Jr., MAEd, who expanded on the previous day’s discussion by providing detailed and practical tips on research writing. Attendees described his talk as both productive and informative. The seminar concluded with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation to Mr. Esteban, presented by TBC President Eriel Fontanilla in collaboration with Ms. Torres.

The annual Thesis Seminar continues to serve as a valuable preparation for CCC Grade 10 students, strengthening their research competence and readiness for senior high school requirements.
